Personal Statement
Naomi Press, MA
Art Psychotherapist and Community Artist
Areas of Special Interest
I am a Fully qualified and HPC registered Art Therapist based in North London and registered with BAAT. Currently I work as an Art Therapist for Freedom from Torture, and in Arts in Health for CNWL NHS Trust.
I have experience of working in a wide range of different settings, from acute adolescent mental health, to voluntary sector organisations and educational settings. I have also worked abroad, in severely deprived and traumatised refugee communities in South Africa and Palestine.
As a Community Artist I have over 10 years experience in working with hard to reach communities and at risk young people. I develop and facilitate projects that will engage the groups I work with and foster the development of creativity and imagination.
My original training is in BA Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art, specializing in Sculpture. I continue my own arts practice, participating in group exhibitions and collaborations with other artists and multidisciplinary art projects.
